Re:Lake Wazee - dfreeman - 03-08-2004 As I mentioned earlier, we had a blast at Lake Wazee doing the ice diving and other winter fun. Two days of ice diving (March 6-7, 2004) made for a good time, but a little cold. Here is the hole that we used. Yes, indeed there is a lot of water around the hole. Most people just put on there dry suits in case they fell through. On Sunday, George was able to break through the ice with a little help from Jason. He went down fast. floated like a bobber in his dry suit. There are few triangles that you can have this much fun in. Re:Lake Wazee - dfreeman - 03-08-2004 Keith was the fearless leader on Saturday and he got some good diving in also. Re:Lake Wazee - dfreeman - 03-08-2004 Here is Andy from the forum. He is a good contact for Lake Wazee conditions and does not mind a little diving time himself. You can tell he is ready to dive in and enjoy the balmy conditions of Lake Wazee. Thank goodness for the dry suit or he would have one wet seat. Re:Lake Wazee - dfreeman - 03-08-2004 Here he is in the elements, ready for a great dive. Re:Lake Wazee - dfreeman - 03-08-2004 Oh, yes that is ice floating in there with Andy. The hole was coming apart on both days. Here is an old freind that we visited this weekend. Good to see that the angel is still watching us in the deep. Re:Lake Wazee - dfreeman - 03-08-2004 Oh, but the gargoyle lives here also. Re:Lake Wazee - dfreeman - 03-08-2004 Here is my dive partner Jason taking in the wall structures of Lake Wazee. The visibility was great. Could have had more sunshine, but you can not have everything. The line makes for a nice contrast. Great diving. Re:Lake Wazee - dfreeman - 03-08-2004 Here we are along the edge with the trees on one side and the depths below. This is one of the most relaxing place that I know. Re:Lake Wazee - dfreeman - 03-08-2004 Here are the trees. With the ice line you need to be careful in the trees or you will get all wrapped up. And it does not help the trees any. The trees are starting to get very friable, so you have to be careful to keep them for the future. Re:Lake Wazee - dfreeman - 03-08-2004 We had two holes going so you never knew who you might meet. Just do not get the ropes tangled. |
