This site had some neat sculpin that liked to stay put and get their pictures taken. Or it could be the 46 degree F water. Here is a little guy on the top the frame of the wheelhouse.

Damn you guys! Thanks for calling me. Sculpin kick ass! ;D

Re:Madeira - dfreeman - 08-29-2004

A head cold has shut me down from diving today. Of course the weather has improved, even nice out.

Just happened to be up here for work. Chris, we will get you up here next time as this is a nice wreck to dive. Long road trip, but worth the effort.

This is the compass binnacle. An important thing to have in the wheelhouse.

The museum for the Meteor in Superior has a number of artifacts from the Madeira. Hopefully the compass is there.

Doug, I wish I knew you were up there this weekend. I would have driven up to give you the complete tour. Wink The Madeira is a comlicated wreck site. It takes a couple dives to figure out where everything is located. Did you find any of the swimthroughs? Did you penetrate the wreck? The "Hesper" is right up the road in Silver Bay. It is worth at least one dive.
