Re: The Northerner - scubert - 06-28-2005 yeah, after really fantastic vis it's always a bit of a disappointment to have less (tempered of course, in the knowledge that it COULD always be 0'). I'd say that we probably had a good 45'-50' below 85'. Above that point was very murky, at certain depths probably a low as 15'. Re: The Northerner - Chris H - 06-28-2005 It does seem a bit odd to complain about 40+ feet of vis in Lake Michigan. It was flat topside too. It was a great day to dive! Re: The Northerner - Swimjim - 06-28-2005 I remember not too long ago, about two years, diving the Northerner when if you let go of the rail you lost the wreck. 40 - 50 foot viz is still pretty good. I guess were getting spoiled. Ha. When I started diving in the late 70's 10 to 15 foot viz was par for the course. No zebras either, but thats a different story. Jim |
