Door County Diving - sailingbs - 07-14-2003

I am going to take my sailboat from Michigan up through the Door Penisula on vacation this summer. I want to know any good dive spots along the Green Bay side and whether I can rent equipment somewhere?

There are some good dive sites along green bay, however the viz in the bay is usually not the greatest...beyond that I can't offer much more info than to tell you that you may want to pick up a book by Chris Kohl called the Great Lakes Diving Guide. Just don't trust his coordinates implicitly, confirm them w/ a secondary source first.

The closest place to rent gear would be

They also have a guide that lists all the best dives in that area.

I tried some dives in the Bay a couple weeks ago but the visibility was really bad. You will find better dive sites at the tip of the peninsula around Washington Is/ Deaths Door. Good luck, it sounds like a fun trip.

I would agree - there is a reason it's called Green Bay ;D

It's like diving in pea soup!

Washington Island offers some awesome stuff though - the ER Williams is awesome over there. And great viz!
