Power of Water - dfreeman - 10-26-2003 Here is a simple demonstration of the power of pressure underwater. At the surface, the bottle is full of air. Re:Power of Water - dfreeman - 10-26-2003 At 27 feet, this bottle really gets squeezed. Doug Re:Power of Water - freediverND - 10-26-2003 right... that's a good example of why equalizing while free diving can get to be a bit tricky. Your lungs start to look like that bottle.... Fred Re:Power of Water - dfreeman - 10-26-2003 Very good point. Puts a new meaning to squeeze. :o Doug Re:Power of Water - FreediveWI - 10-27-2003 Here's another demonstration. This was a foam cup that Mandy-Rae took with her on a 453' sled dive. :o Jon Re:Power of Water - Chris H - 10-27-2003 Doug, I like Jon's example better That's cool. Re:Power of Water - Omicron - 10-27-2003 That's pretty sweet I always had fun taking bottles underwater with me - what's kinda freaky is if they implode all off a sudden on you...they sound like a bomb going off. It reminds of the Rodales article of "100 fun things to do underwater". One of them was to sneak a tennis ball into your partners BC because it won't slowly shrink, it will all of a sudden implode with a good boom at about 100 feet... heheh... |
