DPV- Divers Propulsion Vehicles Question - pink_fins - 12-29-2005 Let me start with, the more you get into diving the more you want stuff :o Now, I am thinking about getting a DPV. Not one of those honking huge cave ones. Just a simple one if there is one out there. got any ideas ? Buddy has one, but the name misses me gail Re: DPV- Divers Propulsion Vehicles Question - Chris H - 12-29-2005 Try a Gavin or Silent Submersion...I don't think you'll be disappointed. Gavin makes a short body version that is only $3500 > If you are looking for a recreational one, Sea Doo makes one that retails for $699 and can be had for much less than that.  Bob at Divepoint Scuba may have one in stock.  There are a few others too. Re: DPV- Divers Propulsion Vehicles Question - divbum - 12-29-2005 For recreation I would buy a Mako from Oceanic (areis Voyager same thing). Or if you want to drop some cash the mini gavin. Re: DPV- Divers Propulsion Vehicles Question - Omicron - 12-29-2005 For what you are looking for Gail, one of the little Sea-Doo ones would probably be pretty good. Like Chris said, Bob @ Divepoint has them in stock, and he even has a couple of rentals that you could try out. They really aren't too bad. They're not as big & bad as a lot of other DPV's, but they do the trick. Now, if I had $3000 to blow, I'd look at other options entirely Re: DPV- Divers Propulsion Vehicles Question - scubasprout - 12-29-2005 Gail, Diver Dan's has some of the SeaDoo VS Supercharged in stock. It is the one that was mentioned for $699.00. The remaining stock ones are on sale for much less. |
