Boot and Glove Dryer - Dewit2it - 04-27-2006 Tired of damp stinky boots or gloves? Get out the ShopVac, and $20 in parts at Menards, and build one of these! It will get your plush lined boots and gloves dry in a 1/2 hour. And it stops the stink as well. Re: Boot and Glove Dryer - Chris H - 04-27-2006 If that thing gets rid of the stink after diving, I think my wife would try to put me on there... Re: Boot and Glove Dryer - Vtach - 04-27-2006 You need a tall, gangly, caffeine addicted, freak dryer/deodorizer for that...... ;D Oh yeah, nice dryer. One of these days I need to build one of those. Re: Boot and Glove Dryer - pink_fins - 04-30-2006 Got rained out for a test drive on my new dry gloves so... Hubby decided to try making one of these things. Turned out pretty good. We just need the hose to connect it to a hair dryer. Will be checking out goodwill soon. So I have to say today turned out okay even if I couldn't dive. Thanks for the idea. gail Re: Boot and Glove Dryer - Dewit2it - 05-01-2006 I think you want to use the blower output of a Shopvac instead. The hairdryer might melt the PVC unless it has a no heat setting. It might take a little longer as the hair dryer has less CFM than the Shopvac. The detachable motor ones work best, also easier to take along, if you can find power or generator. |
