Are you using these LEDs in combination with a strobe like a focus light? Please post some pics of your updated setup.

You may have to parallel the D cells to up the current. 16 D's for a 12V battery pack is getting pretty large. May have to go to Li ion.

I only need 4.2V max. 9 D's gives me plenty of current, problem is I can't find heavy duty reed switches. But I do have another idea that I'm working on. I had ordered a glass lens that is showing some great promise. Won't need as many Led's, less batteries and current issues.
