...hi Mike...the ice has been out for a few weeks now...I considered last weekend but Saturday was a wedding & Sunday was a bit too chilly....Barb & I are heading back to Cozumel early May...If one of those days between now and then looks good - I'll drop you a line & if your free, we can hit the east shoreline.....

My buddy Bob and I dove there last Sunday (April 5).  39 degrees, 5 feet of visibility.  And the parking lot by the railroad tracks is still closed so we entered by the boat ramp, which made for a long swim in extremely shallow water.

You can also drive in to where the cabins are and have a shorter surface swim.

I stopped by the lake a couple days ago, didn't dive, but viz will probably be 5-10' range.  I was in Lake Mendota last Sunday 39 degrees with close to 15' viz.  It didn't get that good at all last year.
