Red Granite depth?

I heard the same story about a deep shaft with a tree from a former LDS owner. He claimed to have personally been in it, and though he mentioned the depth, I don't remember it. If somebody local had some time, I'm sure there has to be some pictures of the quarry when it was being worked that would show a possible location for the shaft. I'd be interested to check it out if it's there.

We tried a few times to get into the Redgranite Library but the hours never worked with when we were there.  There was also a local bar that supposedly had some pictures of it in action.
