Archeology Presentation/Meeting April 26
Badger State Dive Club is proud to present Kimm Stabelfeldt Director of the Great Lakes Shipwreck Research Foundation, Inc. (Ghost Ships) will speak April 26th on the subject of amateur archeology, in the Great Lakes. He will talk about the work that was done over the last 10 years, and the work on the Milwaukee Fire Boat 23 and current work on the Norlond. Kimm will have the field study book on the Milwaukee Fire Boat 23 available for review and purchase, this report was just released at Ghost Ships 2011. The work on these two vessels along with others done over the years has all been done with divers like you, Kimm will encourage you to join him and others on these dives so you as divers can understand wrecks and what you are seeing while diving Great Lakes wrecks. Kimm has been diving 37 years, has worked on many projects with the State of Wisconsin doing both shallow wrecks and deep water surveys, and inventories of wrecks. He has dove on over 650 Great Lakes and Salt Water shipwrecks. He has authored a number of articles and written six books. For those of you who are interested in archeology be sure to attend. Meeting will be held at Edwardo's Pizza in Wauwatosa on the corner of Bluemound and Hwy. 100. Presentation will begin at 7:30 PM. After the presentation we will take a short pizza break followed by our regular monthly meeting. Drinks are free to those who attend and pizza is $5.00 for all you can eat. We hope to see you there.
