Wazee Conditions
So anyone know what Wazee is like?  Is it still ice-covered?

Re: Wazee Conditions
I'm sure it's still ice covered. Your best bet is to call Wazee Sports.

Re: Wazee Conditions
A group of us from the Twin Cities did some ice dives at Wazee last Saturday.  There was about 15" of ice.  We were 100 ft from the 100 ft buoy in about 70ft of water at Site 1.

I was just checking out my log and see I dove Wazee on April 13th. of last year. According to my logbook ice was out several hundred feet. Needless to say it was a cooooold dive.

I checked out the lake last Sunday, Ice is still there, it's getting honeycombed and water is showing about 3'  from the shore to the ice.

Re: Wazee Conditions

Actually, I'm usually pretty optimistic, this is just realistic.  If you check the weather for Black River Falls for April 5, 2009.  You'll see this
Sunday: Snow. The snow could be heavy at times. High near 32. North wind between 11 and 20 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Granted, 1 to 3" is hardly a snow storm, but combined with 25+mph winds it doesn't do much for spring fever. Wink
