I did a couple of dives at Fortune pond end of Aug. I was very impressed with the vis. at least above about 120-130ft. Locked gate? makes no sense, oh well must have a reason.

Re: Wazee diving Oct. 31
I am scared of the dark. The first time I had the scooter out I ran it into a wall because of the dark and horrible visibility at one one of our local quarries. We seriously considered Fortune Pond for this weekend, but it wasn't going to work for all of us both days. Todd and I are going up to Wazee this weekend if you're interested. Chris will be joining us on Sunday morning. Anyone else is of course welcome to dive.

Which one did ya get?  You can really get a long way from home quick with a good scooter!  No diving for me untill I get rid of this cold.

We got a good price on some new Mini Gavin's. They're not as popular as the X-scooter or the SS N-19, but they were a lot cheaper. I would have preferred to buy a used lead acid battery scooter, but they're just to big and heavy to take on the boats around here. For open water the smaller NiMH battery scooters just make more sense.

Re: Wazee diving Oct. 31
Todd and I had a great day diving up at Wazee on Saturday, and Sunday was almost as nice with Chris joining us. The weather was fantastic near 70 with sunny skies. The visibility was 20-30 ft above 70 ft and deteriorated quickly deeper than that. The temp at 70 ft was 39 degrees, with 50-55 degrees on the surface. On a bad note, the Super 8 no longer has a waffle maker available at the free breakfast. I will be checking the other local hotels in the future for a waffle maker, as it was one of the best things about the Super 8.

I don't camp! From now on I may have to bring my own waffle maker and just stay in the cheapest place I can find.
