Caution For Scuba Divers

Dane County has seven 10' wide harvesters covering the aquatic plant harvesting throughout the County. The harvesting program typically runs from mid-May to mid-August. Priority harvesting includes emergency flood relief, boat navigation and public access areas such as beaches and boat landings.

Program resources are limited and cannot provide for clear cutting or removal of aquatic plants outside the permitted cutting areas. Harvested plants are composted and provide excellent fertilizer.
