When did the E-series begin? I'm not sure if my tanks are the E-series, or the older ones. Do I have to worry about the DOT exemption for the older tanks?

From what I heard only the tanks stamped with an E. This would be all of the PST tanks with a 3442 psi service pressure rating.

You would have to look at the markings on your tank.

The 130's have a mark of "E8-130", and there are also "E8-119" tanks. They are also stamped with the 3442 service pressure. They also came with a huge sticker on them saying "Pressed Steel E Series" Smile

At least that is cheaper then for me replaceing 6 sets of doubles...

Yours are the older tanks. No worries. I find it hard to believe that there isn't some "official" way around this. Well, I've sort of been interested in a compressor anyway....
