Re: Who is doing what for a New Years Day Dive?
Nice report and pictures Todd ( must be a new camera?). I would add that anyone visiting this wreck should look out for the ships rudder. The massive rudder is laying on it's side, at what I think is the east end of the wreck. In addition, while the wreck is flattened out there are still many things to see. We saw valves, pulleys, gears, and someone mentioned a lightbulb still in the socket. Diving this wreck was a good start to the new year. I'd also like to commend Jerry and crew for getting us all back on the boat with the deteriorating conditions. Happy New Year!

I've had the camera for a while just thought that I needed to be actually using it rather than having it sit in the case.

Yeah, what they said. It was a nice dive on a new wreck on the 1st day of the year. It doesn't get much better than that. And don't give me any whiney crap about how the Bahamas would be better and blah, blah, blah... Salt water tastes like crap and you can look at pretty fish at Shedd Aquarium. The temps were 37-39F and we 40-60ft of vis. When are we diving again?

Todd has his own dialect that is mostly made up of whatever happens to be floating around in his brain at the time. None of it surprises me anymore, but it usually makes me laugh. Sometimes I can translate and sometimes not. That is after knowing him for 10+ years. |

I second a trip to the rudder, it is HUGE! And definately three cheers to Jerry and the whole topside crew (TX included as an in the water spotter) for making sure they retrieved all the divers after the main mooring tore free. |
