Re: Yahara River?
Yeah, but keeping the pins from floating away is a real pain in the rear.  Wink

The purple ball is sitting on the stern of the red boat.  Haven't seen the other ones.

The bowling balls dribble nicely on the flat rocks.  Perhaps we need a baskeball hoop and could get some 2 on 2 going.

Re: Yahara River?
Better yet, does anyone have a waterproof hammer drill to mount it to the rock with lag shields? Wink

Somehow I don't think my DeWalt 18V hammer drill will survive immersion.

Pneumatic? hmm.

Re: Yahara River?

I don't know if I've ever been colder than the day (March 25, 2001) we drift-dived the entire Yahara River, from just below the Tenny Park Locks to Morrison Park in Lake Monona.  We were in the water for 90 minutes, with a max depth of 5 feet.  I think I floated from E. Washingon to Willy St so I could hold my hands above-water and warm up a bit.  There wasn't even much good stuff - all I recorded recovering is some golf balls and a traffic cone.

I'd still probably do it again sometime.

Re: Yahara River?
Which is why my favorite way to "dive" it is on my surfski.  ;D

I can paddle up and down the river and see everything I want to, especially with a decent pair of polarized sunglasses, and then just jump in with a mask if I see anything I want.  Wink

I also wear a kayaking drysuit and dry gloves for winter paddeling so I stay pretty darn toasty warm for all the entire time that I am out there.  8)
