New Courses at Underwater Connection
The Advanced Oxygen course will train those already certified to use oxygen in scuba diving accidents in the use of manually triggered ventilators, as well as the use of a bag-valve mask for resuscitation. This can increase the percent of inspired oxygen during resuscitation. The On-site Neuro course is also designed as an add-on for those already trained in emergency oxygen use. We cover how to take a complete neurological field examination, which can assist emergency room personnel in treatment options for injured divers. This is a great course for all the technical divers out there....by the way....are you all trained in emergency oxygen use? The Basic Life Support for Professionals course covers professional level resuscitation techniques including two-person CPR, the use of bag valve masks, airway suctioning, and cricoid pressure. This course is a must for anyone in the professional ranks of diving as well as anyone who dives in more remote areas from emergency services. It also qualifies for health care provider recertification. And lastly, the Safety Signing Diver course covers over 100 different signs for diving words, based on American Sign Language. You'll learn how to communicate more effectively under water, without confusion. As a side note....did you know the traditional sign used for shark (the hand on the forehead) is actually an insult to those who know American sign Language???? (It actually means bas***rd) So, all of these can be conducted without any open water training. The Signing course only requires one pool session. We are teaching all of these new courses at our Delafield location, so call us today and find out more. 262-646-8283 p.s. as a side note...we teach the entire range of DAN courses as well. |
