I was thinking that you meant something a bit more local to Merrill.  I know there are some clear water "lakes" (or maybe big ponds) in the Underdown area that might be worth a peek.  I think everything else is a fair distance away, which I don't have a problem with but it is hard to justify a "quickie" for that time/distance.  The Jenibell is an OK wreck but with the ER Williams and Frank O'Connor not too far away I didn't find the 1-6 foot vis worth it.  That was over 6 years ago though...
