Up Coming Classes!
On-Line Nitrox The SDI Computer Nitrox course is a great next step after the Open Water Diver certification and is structured in an easy to understand manner by making use of a Nitrox programmable computer. Nitrox as a breathing gas has a lot of benefits for both new and experienced. The course will cover the use of Nitrox mixtures from 22 to 40 percent oxygen. The benefits of using Nitrox include Increased safety margins Reduced post dive fatigue Extended no-decompression times Available on-line. Solo Diver One day course-June 14, July 6 & Aug. 3 One of SDIâs most popular courses, the solo diver program teaches experienced recreational divers how to safely dive independently of a dive buddy or strengthen your buddy team skills. The course stresses on proper dive planning, personal limitations, accident prevention as well as the benefits, hazards, and proper procedures for diving solo. You will also learn the additional equipment that is required for solo diving including it's proper usage and assembly. This is the prefect course for underwater photography and underwater video divers. Advanced Nitrox May 24-26 and again Aug. 15-17 This course examines the use of EAN21 through 100% Oxygen for optimal mixes to a depth of 150 FSW. Students will learn the benefits, hazards, and proper procedures for utilizing EAN21 through 100% Oxygen for dives not requiring staged decompression. Decompression Procedures May 24-26 and again Aug. 15-17 This course examines the theories, methods, and procedures of safe planned staged decompression. Students will be trained in planning and conducting dives not exceeding 150 FSW. Trimix May 31-June 1, June 7-8 4 Day Course and again Sept. 5-7 The TDI Entry Level Trimix Course provides the training required to competently and safely utilize breathing gases containing Helium for dives that require staged decompression, utilizing Nitrox and/or Oxygen mixtures during decompression to a maximum depth of 200 FSW. Advanced Trimix July 11th-13th and again Oct 10-12 The TDI Advanced Trimix Course provides the training required to competently and safely utilize breathing gases containing Helium for dives that require staged decompression, utilizing Nitrox and/or Oxygen mixtures during decompression to a maximum depth of 300 FSW. Aug 7-10 The GUE Fundamentals course is designed to cultivate the essential techniques required by all sound diving practice, irrespective of level or environment. Functioning as a prerequisite for all other GUE classes, save its recreational diver course (forthcoming), GUE Fundamentals performs a three-fold function within the GUE curriculum: 1) it provides the recreational diver, in whom there is no desire for further diver training, with a context in which to advance his/her basic diving skills, thereby developing more comfort, confidence, and competence in the water; and 2) it provides the diver with aspirations of more advanced diver training with the tools that will contribute to a greater likelihood of success; and 3) it provides non-GUE trained divers with a gateway into GUE training. Public Safety Diving ERDI 1 May 2nd - 4th or October 3rd-5th This program is designed to teach basic black water search and recovery operations for divers working with public safety dive teams. The program content is compliant with all OSHA 1910, NFPA 1670 and NFPA 1006 regulations pertaining to diving operations. Diver training will include: basic search patterns, hazard assessment, risk benefit analyses, equipment selection and deployment for emergency response diving. Additionally a general orientation to the following topics will be included: OSHA standards and the extreme limitations of the Rescue exemption policy for PSD, scene control, dealing with bystanders and the media. The dive operations are strongly oriented toward tethered diving operations with some minimal discussion of free swimming patterns and their applications/limitations. A very strong emphasis is placed on rescue operations for team members who experience difficulties during a dive deployment and performing other safety diver activities. We are available to train at your location. Call for more info. If you are intrested in a class please contact us at 715-284-5181 or email us at scuba@wazeesports.com |
