Be sure to post this in as it will reach a lot of other divers in Minnesota. A lot of them frequent Lake Wazee also.

Lake Wazee may be an ideal place for your quest. There is good visibility and plenty to see at shallow depths.

Here is an example of a black crappy in the fish cribs. THis crib is less than 10 feet down
