Re: Blackbeard live-aboard questions
First, the water is cooler than you might think- I wore a full 6.5mm suit with an attached hood and wasn't too warm, although my dives where almost all 90 mintues long. People laughed at me the first day, but a few days into the trip their 3mm jumpsuits just weren't cutting it anymore.
I know other instructors who always wear 7mm jumpsuits on their warm water trips because they shoot photos and like to spend a lot of time in the water. 3mm look nice, but if you want maximum bottom time throw on some extra rubber- or buy a freediving suit. Second, you are limited to the number of dives you can do in a day- 3 to 4. For some people this is enough but I was pretty ticked that I couldn't do more and wouldn't go again. When I was in Bonaire and Roatan I could easily get 5-6 dives in a day without a hassle. On the plus side I saw more fish there than in many other places that I have dove, including Bonaire and Roatan. Jon |
