Freshwater Jellies!
Did two dives in Redgranite today with Doug. Conditions were pretty decent for the most part. Viz in the shallows (50 feet and above) was actually phenomenal. Once you hit 60 and below it got pretty bad - 80 feet was typical Redgranite blackness.
The highlight of the dives though were the jellyfish. We saw one on the first dive, and then about a dozen on the second dive. They were in about 20 feet of water. Very cool little guys, just swimmin around the quarry. Neat stuff. Hopefully more of them will be showing up soon. For more info on the jellies, check out this site: |
