If it was empty, it would float.  If it was full it would be a few pounds negative.  Last year I was on a dive boat and we dove some bogus GPS coords.  One of the divers found a AL 80 that must have been down at least twentys years if you date it by the back pack that was on it.  It still held pressure.  The diver cleaned it up and sent it in for a hydo.  It passed.  The tank is back in use now.  So if anyone chances across this tank, its probably still a good one as long as it had a dry fill.
