Re: Building a pontoon dive boat
concentrate on a good ladder... or a near water level or submerged platform

Re: Building a pontoon dive boat
I converted an 18 ft pontoon for diving. LADDER is key , I broke 4 of them befor I bought a Wind line sport diver . Comes with mount altho you will need something under your boat to fasten to. Call me for more detail I can't type and this takes forever

Re: Building a pontoon dive boat
Older pontoons tend be too small, four divers with gear is about max weight.  You also can't cruize with any speed when weighted down.  I modified an old aluminum ladder and mounted on side of boat, using the pontoon as support.  Must be able to hinge out of the water.  A big motor will be wasteful, adds weight and can't cruize fast anyhow.
If you can add a third pontoon, do it.
