Buyer Beware
More and more web boards are seeing scam artist.  And there was just one removed from wiscuba.  When you see posting and gear offers to good to be true, inquire and get referrals from divers you know.
Additionally people asking for money payment by western union is a huge red flag.  Offer to sell you extras they have in auctions at a good price is another one, after you been out bid.
Safe Diving,
Greg

Oh man!!!  Does this mean that you really can not buy a $2000 dive computer for $800?  Guess I will have to wait until I hit the Powerball. Tongue Tongue Tongue

Re: Buyer Beware / stuff stolen
Caution all - if some trys to sell ya stuff that is stolen...

-----------------------------------

I received this from a SCUBA member.  It addresses a break-in into a vehicle in Parking Lot 17 (Engineering campus) where over $7,000 of SCUBA equipment was stolen.  Please be careful with your personal SCUBA gear and keep it out of sight, i.e., place it in the trunk.

Re: Buyer Beware
I don't remember hearing about this theft in Madison.... $7,000??

This was either a hard core diver, someone transporting shop gear, or there's another cave diver in Madison missing his gear.

Unless that was just a camera, of course  Tongue

Re: Buyer Beware
Pretty close to the mark on that camera comment.  Glad to have Bob at DivePoint so that I can keep the habit under control.

Got a new dive light , man.  I am hurting.

I am looking at HMI technology which is also a canister type light.  Typically used for video/photography.  Once you imply a camera, you can cross the word cheap out.
