Fontana - Air on the West side

SCUBA Shop Manager Dave Anderson is now working nearly full time at the new Fontana Sports Specialties. The new store is where Erewhon was located, at 7948 Tree Lane on Madison's West side, just off of Mineral Point Road near the beltline. (833-9191)

Anderson said "We are getting in a tremendous amount of new snorkel and dive equipment every day and are looking forward to having a scuba specific grand opening in the near future."

Justin Sargent, Fontana SCUBA instructional coordinator, moving rentals to, and the scuba classroom to the new facility in the very near future. "Fontana downtown is a Madison mainstay, but the Westside location will give the SCUBA shop some room to stretch its legs and carry even a wider selection of equipment." said Sargent.

Fontana owners John and Judith Hutchinson are excited to offer a Westside location to area divers. A grand opening sale will occur August 5-12th with specials at both locations. Recognizing the long support from area dive enthusiasts, Fontana also plans a SCUBA specific Grand Opening celebration with gear specials and prizes. When the date is set they plan to announce it to club members.

Given the ease of tank fills and accessibility of the new location, Fontana is also planning to expand its area dive trips and weekly dives with gear rental specials.

"Everyone at Fontana is excited about the growth and changes, John and Judith really believe in supporting local diving and recreational scuba in general. This new location enhances Fontana's ability to do just that. We can provide more convenient service, a wider selection of gear, and additional dive opportunities". Sargent said.

There are indications that Fontana is exploring mixed gas options for future installation.
