dry suit zipper
Is silicon grease petroleum based? I was told a little grease at the docking point of the dry suit zipper is required. Any help is appreciated.

Re: dry suit zipper
I would stick with drysuit zipper wax. You really shouldn't need anything else. It's really just for lubrication, not a seal. I've heard of people using other types of wax, bee's wax, or parafin wax. I've always used something packaged for drysuit zippers. Not because it's better, but just more convenient.

Re: dry suit zipper
To add to Jeff's post, the silicone grease never dries and will make a mess, I wouldn't use it on ANY piece of gear. Stick with zipper wax or bees wax. I try to wax my zipper every few dive weekends. Going on 6 years old with the same zipper. YMMV .

Re: dry suit zipper
Thanks for the info. To keep the docking part of the zipper lubricated should I place a smear of wax at this point?
