What's open?

Dove Lake Ripley in Cambridge on sunday. For a lake that is usually pea green, viz was o.k. 5-10 ft or more. I think Rock Lake in Lake Mills is still open, would not take much to put boat in. Viz "should" be good

OK Gang, I spoke with Kieth at noon today and Wazee is still WIDE open!!!!  BRING ON THE DIVING! 8)

We did wazee on sat and sun, it was a good time. My buddie delt with a reg freezeup, but we did what we were trained to do and all ended well. Vis seems to be slightly better than summer but not awsome yet at sherwood access, but it was awsome at the boat landing directly across the lake from sherwood. I would guess 30 to 40 ft vis with mid 30s temp. There is a slight amount of ice forming around the edges but it is still wide open.

I've been hitting Mendota every weekend for the past two months. Last weekend the water was 34F and we had to break through about 100'  of shore ice to hit openwater. Everyhting was clear, but the fish moved out to deeper water- except for the bass, which he can't spear anyway.

I went to check on things today and all of the lakes are frozen solid. The "Outlet" was always the back up spot, but the pipe is off and the ice there is so thick it has a few inches of snow on it. It even looks like people have been going over the area on skiis.

I know they've been tlaking about shutting down the power plant in downtown Madison for a few years. Does anyone know if it's going to be closed all winter? This place was the easiest winter dive around- especially if you wanted to see fish.
